The GOP-controlled House Judiciary Committee, now led by Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, held a hearing Wednesday to discuss the Biden administration’s handling of immigration policies, national security and the fentanyl crisis. Republicans repeatedly blamed the administration for an increase in migrant crossings on the U.S.-Mexico border while Democrats criticized GOP members for using what they called "nativist rhetoric" against undocumented migrants. The hearing included testimony from Brandon Dunn, co-founder of the Forever 15 Project, which raises awareness about fentanyl poisoning; Judge Ricardo Samaniego, of El Paso, Texas; and Sheriff Mark Dannels of Cochise County, Arizona.
